Enhancing Child Nutrition through Local Biodiversity in Burkina Faso

This project promotes the use of locally available edible plants from the Kulsé and Djôrô regions to improve nutrition among children. Nutritional analyses show high levels of vitamin A and proteins in many species, with a significant proportion meeting daily nutritional needs for children aged 6 months to 5 years. The initiative addresses malnutrition and food insecurity by valorizing underused wild plants and strengthening dietary diversity and resilience.
