IDEMS International has contributed to the Tricot learning resources available through ClimMob, with a chapter on analysing Tricot data using R-Instat. The chapter, co-authored by Lily Clements, Roger Stern, and Rachel Chase from the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, was developed through discussions with Rachel, who led the writing.
The chapter introduces R-Instat as an accessible tool for analysing data from participatory agricultural trials, covering tasks such as data cleaning, ranking analysis, visualisation, and reporting. It also highlights how R-Instat’s climatic tools can be used to explore environmental conditions alongside trial results.
The resource builds on our wider collaboration with CIAT to support Tricot analysis in R-Instat, and provides another way for researchers and practitioners to learn about and use these methods with their own data.
