In 2024, IDEMS transitioned to a maintenance contract, focusing solely on maintaining existing features rather than developing new ones. As part of this transition, the team upgraded the app and its underlying infrastructure to improve existing functionality and scalability. Additionally, two new regional sites were launched to support users in Libya and Cameroon.
Sadly, our time on IoGT has now ended after IDEMS successfully handed over the project to new vendor, Nagarro. We are glad that IoGT continues to be developed, even if we are no longer involved, and we hope that the work we put in over the last 2 and a half years will stand it in good stead.
I think all of us at IDEMS are genuinely surprised that we managed to keep the project going despite serious setbacks and challenges. We learned a lot very quickly on this project. We had a big ambition for IoGT, but only had the capacity to realise part of our vision. It confirms to us that the problem of sharing content, adapting it to local contexts and merging back the results of successful adaptations is yet to be adequately solved and is still worth solving.
